Video transmission is dedicated to transmitting the healthy film and television culture to the audience, and thus builds the media opinion. The media, at the realm of the ideological superstructure, has a great influence on people's spiritual life and ideology. Also, visual media has a great deal of effects on constructing the socialistic core value system and its multi-faceted role is to lead one of the most important elements. 2008, for China, is an uncommon year. The events which come from economy, society and daily life are witnessed the common and uncommon of the year. The chain of major events tested the spread ability of film and TV media.This paper was written in an interdisciplinary perspective. It used communication, cult urology, film studies, psychology and some other relevant theories to organize the great national events and hot climaxes in 2008. It analyses the role of modern media of film and TV in the nation's major events. It attempts to efficiently lead the public opinion, serve the target audience and create the core competence of modern video transmission by researching the role of modern media of film and TV in the nation's major events. This paper was created with the purpose of seeking the development orientation of modern film and TV transmission, tabling some proposals to consummate our film and TV media. The main aim of this paper is hoped to build a harmonious society and contribute little to the "soft power" transmission in our country.
