On The Narrative Poems In Tang Dynasty

The thesis takes the narrative poetry in Tang Dynasty as the object of study. Considering that the term of narrative poetry is from the western world, to study it is doubtlessly of importance on the ground that the Chinese poetry history is mainly full of the lyric poems. Furthermore, since Tang Dynasty is the most flourishing period of the poems and the Tang poems have an emotional style, the study of narration quality, the other side of the poetry, assists in probing into the Tang poems in the terms of the content and from, aesthetic features,and thus having a comprehensive idea of the Chinese poetry development.Through the detailed study, we have reasonably concluded that the narrative poetry is also the exquisite style of the literature in Tang dynasty despite it conveys sentiments and ideals, accompanied by the features of the lack of narrative elements. Which doe not only weaken the artistic value but demonstrate the fact that the basic quality of the Chinese classical poetry is still the concentration of emotions and images.Content determines its form, and they are closely connected. To make the analysis of the two factors is helpful to the understanding of the Tang narrative poems. Besides, since the narrative poems bear the features of historical insights, poetic creative power, political and social criticism, influenced by Tang chuanqi during the development process of its own, I would argue, it can be taken as the essential presumption to explore the Tang narrative poems. The quality of literary is discussed from the poetic creative power and the quality of narration is from historical insights. All of these can amount to the exhibition of colorful artistic expressions and the internal factors. To achieve the goal, the thesis emphasizes the following aspects such as the spirit, language, the point of view and style of the narrating. What's more, it also briefly discusses the subject, writing techniques, style and authors of the Tang narrative poems to distinguish the uniqueness from the other narrative poems before Tang dynasty.The Tang narrative poetry is of course at the peak of the genre in that it continues the preceding and introduces the following and also serves as the reference to the modern literary creation.
