The college students, who are born after 1980s, grew up in the last two decades of the twentieth century. This generation is completely different from the generations before 80s due to their extraordinary life experience. They were living in a society where China had dramatic daily changes in every aspect. During these twenty years, the classification of the Chinese society was changing dramatically, the economic development was growing in a rate that other countries might not ever catch up, the scientific technology was making great progress and the sociological norms were liberating widely and the social values were in great diversity. Therefore, this study believes that studying the mental health problems of the 1980s generation and researching their educational models would be a very important issue. This paper selected the sample from the students who are studying in the Shanxi Finance University on the condition that they were also born after 1980s. The methodology is in a combination of using literature, data analysis, interviews, questionnaire and survey, mathematical statistics and other research methods. On the basis of having studied the literature, this paper would establish the direction of researching and make the survey by conducting through-depth interviews and open-ended questionnaires to the sampled students. Then the stratified random sampling will be used and the questionnaire and the symptom checklist (SCL-90) should be completed. Finally, the paper would sort the questionnaire results by mathematical statistics and identify factors that may interpret the results. The research will be following the steps of discovering problems, analysing problems and solving problems. The first steps should be completed by studying the sampled students from the following aspects: their academic career, family problems, economic issues, interpersonal problems, love problems and employment status. Once the problems have been specified, the second steps shall begin. In other words, the data of the SCL-90 will be compared and the problems should also be categorised according to the fitness of the factors in the definition of the classification tables in the SCL-90. Those results that do not belong to the category of the mental health issues should be eliminated and these identified issues should be analysed in depth. On the foundation of mature definition of mental health, this paper would also make innovative suggestions of psychological health autonomy, standardisation, coordination, power of the four-dimensional definition of the environment. According to self-definition of mental health factors and four dimensions and under the capability of researching, the paper will try to find the breakthrough point and the coverage of the education of the 1980s generation by classifying, planning and analysing the problems occurred in the questionnaire. The key to the analysing step is to analyse the appearance of the mental health according to the roots of the mental health. In the solving phase of the paper, based on the international and domestic common method of educating mental health and the actual situations in the present colleges and universities, it will subtotal the models of mental health education for the post 1980s generation and evaluate these models. Then it will try to establish the complete problems system, make innovative suggestions and build a brand-new explicit and implicit psychological health education model.
