Structure Research On The Associative Compounds In The Inscriptions On Bones And Tortoise Shells

The thesis is divided into three chapters.Chapter 1 General IntroductionFirst, it gives a brief account of the research on the structure of associative compounds in the inscriptions on bones and tortoise shells. Second, some achievements have been made on the associative compounds. However, it is far from insufficient as a whole. For example, the theoretical discussion is insufficient, the classification is in disorder and quantitative and qualitative analysis are inadequate. All these problems are rectified or complemented in this thesis. Finally, it introduces the materials serving as a base for the study and gives concise definition to the terms used in this article.Chapter 2 Structure of associative compounds in the inscriptions on bones and tortoise shells.To facilitate the research, the definition is first given associative compounds in the inscriptions on bones and tortoise shells, and its judgment standards. Then, as the feature of associative compounds in the inscriptions on bones and tortoise shells is building configuration according to meaning. The essence of Chinese way of thinking is actually the principle of building shape of Chinese characters, for example, figurative thought, rhetorical activity, the overall dialectical thinking, culture and custom. Forming meaning is one of the most important dispositions of associative compounds in the inscriptions on bones and tortoise shells. Based on the structure the associative compounds are roughly classified into two types, respectively associative compounds coordinating the configuration of the characters, and associative compounds that coordinating the meaning of the characters.Finally, the associative compounds in the inscriptions on bones and tortoise shells are classified as associative compounds of same symbols and of diverse symbols. Therefore, Pictograph Oracle configuration method is the basis for associative compounds in the inscriptions on bones and tortoise shells, and also the key to explore the relationship between configuration and meaning.
