Crescent School was an influential literary organization from the 1920s to the 1930s, Its inditements relate to poetry, novel, essay, drama, and it also has unique style in Chinese modern literary society. Compared with many researches and breakthroughs on poetry, essay, etc in the academic world, though we can often read the researches on novels of individual novelist of the Crescent School, yet research on the Crescent School's novels is still thin, at present, researching on the Crescent School's novels on the whole is few. This thesis attempts to break the existing researches centering on writing of individual novelist of the Crescent School, and presents a comprehensive research on the Crescent School's novels. For the sake of research convenience, this thesis analyses and discusses for two chapters.Because existing researches on the whole writing condition of the Crescent School's novels are not enough, by far, some information about the Crescent School is not clear, such as members of the Crescent School's novelist, whose range, the number of the Crescent School's novels.Chapter one mainly systematically clears up information about the Crescent School's novels, and completely discribes a clear and whole writing condition of the Crescent School's novels. As members of the Crescent School who were engeged in writing novels are very complex, they include key writers and associate members, during the course of clearing the whole novels condition, the paper concretely analyses the key writers and associate members related literature activities and personnel, and draws a conclusion that the novels written by Shen Congwen, He Jiahuai, Xu Zhuanpeng and Xie Bingji are also the Crescent School's novels besides Xu Zhimo, Ling Shuhua and Lin Huiyin's. To a certain extent, the conclusion not only restores historical fact of the Crescent School's novels writing condition, but makes readers understand the Crescent School's novels perfectly.Chapter two mainly explores the novels writing characteristic from the perspectives of motif and artistic style. The Crescent School has deep liberalism, and its novels pay a tribute to humanism toleration and hamoniousness. The motif mainly centers on health and dignity, and praises the state of health life and appreciates harmonious relationship. On the way of novel's artistic style, the novels do their best to avoid conflict to organize writing, thus making the novels take on prosified lyric style. On the concrete ways of aesthetic expression, the novels pay attention to depicting with graceful and restrained artistic conception, express with soft imago, narrate with restricted narrative perspective, and hold rational, moderate gesture, making the Crescent School's novels take on euphemistic, mild and rational artistic characteristic.
