| Instruments are the material carrier of music, and also the ruler and'fossil'of music history. A good deal of elements like society, culture, history and music gather in instruments, while these elements restrict and influent the existence and development of instruments in a sense. Mr. LouQin once said:'The development of instrumental art is infiltrated by music cultural spirit of an era, and the other way round, the music cultural spirit of an era determine the choices of using of instruments, the aspect of instrumental development and the track of instrumental evolution'. Yang-chin is an instrument which was introduced into China from the exotic lands in Ming and Qing dynasties, and it was accepted by people gradually in the process of communicate, collision, and grinding in with Chinese traditional culture. In its long history of developing process, Yang-chin becomes an indispensable instrument of accompaniment and concerto in repertory and music sorts. Nowadays, Yang-chin we see in the folk music orchestra has been a genuine Chinese plucked instrument. Chinese Yang-chin system serves as an important representation of'the three systems' (Europe, south and west Asia, China) of Yang-chin in the world. It is clear that its charm is beyond reproach, and its digestion of cosmopolitism and nationality is undoubted.This paper will study Yang-chin from two different aspects:(1) The introduction of Yang-chin and its character, including textual research about the time of Yang-chin's introduction, the overview of Yang-chin's development in China which involved form quality of the instrument, applied occasions and its function, and Yang-chin's character:the publication of materials of instruction and the formation of schools. The writer will sort out and interpret the vertical history of instrumental development, and attempt to describe the general history of Yang-chin's development clearly. (2) The study about shaping factors of Yang-chin's sinicization, in this part, the writer will explore the reasons why Yang-chin was accepted by Chinese traditional culture, and illustrate and analyze the reason of formation of sinicization. Conclusion is:the combined action of function features of instrument,existent space,human being,approach of handing down,the place of performance,idea concept,performance form, music cultural background, and society environment, all these elements will be the important factors of formation of Yang-chin's sinicization. |
