Researches Of Development Strategy On Our Coastal International Container Terminal

In recent years, the functions of container terminals become very important along with the unity of world economy and trade as well as the rapid development of containerization. Meanwhile, its positions and environments of operation also change deeply. Port industry having faced more and more competitive market climate. Therefore, the development strategies of container terminals not only relate to their own existence, but also associate with the national economy and social progress.This paper makes focus on the problem of development strategy of our coastal international container terminal. On the basis of systematic summary on the development of the international container transportation system and container center in our country, it points out the development tendency of international container transportation and its influence on the development of container terminals. Then, the predictions of the throughput of our coastal container terminals have been given out on the bases of analysis of container volumes generated in several regions. Finally, according to the theory of port planning and layout, the layout and development strategy of our coastal international container terminals have been put forward. So that it gives out a reference for the development of our container terminals.This paper employs the combination approaches of model analysis and case studies in the light of systematic theory, prediction theory, layout and planning theory, so that the integration of theoretical research and practical application are realized.
