The Chinese Communist Party has always attached great importance to inner-Party democracy since its founding. Deng Xiaoping, as one of the most important members of the first generation and the core of the second generation of collective leadership, he has witnessed the developing history of the CCP's inner-Party democracy during his career. The inner-party democracy was drastically destroyed in an all-round way in the Cultural Revolution. After the 3rd Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee of the CCP, Deng Xiaoping strove to restored the Party's inner democracy to order and engaged in thorough exploration of truly promoting inner-Party democracy in new phase. Based on a comprehensive consideration of the experience and lessons of inner-Party democracy construction in each period of the CCP history, he made many statements reflecting courage and insight, which carried on and expanded the right aspects of Mao Zedong's exploration aiming at avoiding the recurrence of the same mistakes that Mao had made in his late years. Deng Xiaoping's thought of inner-Party democracy is one precious ideological legacy. The paper includes three parts: preface, formal part and epilogue. The preface introduces the position and career of Deng xiaoping briefly and illustrates the purpose, method and basic value of the study. The formal part has four chapters. The first chapter mainly analyzes the base and background of the formation and development of Deng Xiaoping's thought of inner-Party democracy, there are four factors: theoretical foundation, historical origination, realistic resource and international environment. The second chapter explores its main contents and contribution from three aspects: the goal of which is mobilizing enthusiasm on all fronts in order to create the political situation characterized by solidarity, liveliness, stability and harmony; the upper-most content and fundamental guarantee is the democratic centralism; the way of realization resorts to the combination the education in ideology and work style with institutional means, and the former is the base and prerequisite while the latter is the kernel. Furthermore, the author sums up the main characteristics of Deng Xiaoping's thought of inner-Party democracy. The third chapter states its historic status and illustrates its guiding significance for strengthening inner-Party democracy and establishing a socialist political civilization. The epilogue points out that Deng Xiaoping's thought of inner-Party democracy is an opening-up and developing theory, and we should uphold and perfect it in new century.
