With the successful entering into WTO of china, the development of marketing economy and the continuous deepening of reform, the competition between homeland automobile business and overseas is becoming more intense. As an producer of passenger bus, Yangzhou special vehicle manufactory is faced with rare developing opportunity as well as extremely rigorous challenge. Activities of production, supply and sale are key to every firm. It is of important practical significance to the development of enterprise that the performance appraisal to managers of production, supply and sale is intensified so that the comprehensive competition capability is promoted.This paper makes an system and thorough research on the topic of performance appraisal to managers of production, supply and sale of Yangzhou special vehicle manufactory, applying theories of HRM, business management and performance appraisal ,adopting the measures of qualitative and quantitative analysis , combined with the practice of the firm and the theories .At first, the paper expatiates on the theory of performance appraisal, summarizes the present situation of studying and applying of the theory in and out of the country. Secondly, the paper analyses the system and the problems of performance appraisal of Yangzhou special vehicle manufactory, adopting the method of empirical analysis by interview on spot and investigation using questionnaire, and explores the reasons of the problem through different direction. Thirdly, on the bases of analysis of work, character of and relation among managers ofproduction, supply and sale, the paper designs the system of performance appraisal, which has an index system combining general and special index, measures, main body, approach of feedback and complain, possible deviation and measures to reduce it. At last, considering the present condition of Yangzhou special vehicle manufactory, the paper puts forward ensurance methods and notice items of carrying the new system and criterion of process of performance appraisal.
