The thesis,taking Chongqing Special Steel Corporation Limited (hereinafter abbreviated as Chongte Co.) as an example,makes a comprehensive study of the developing strategies of large-sized state-owned enterprises.First of all,the thesis briefly reviews the various developing strategies patterns employed by Chongte Co. in recent years,laying foundation for further analysis of the company's developing strategies. Then,the thesis makes a thorough analysis of the company's internal and external conditions in 2001 with strategic administration approaches including PEST,EFE,and IFE. In addition,the thesis put forward the strategic situation selection and the developing strategies for Chongte Co. by establishing SWOT Analysis Model. Finally,the thesis reaches a conclusion,points out the present problems and brings forward the author's suggestion.Combined with the status quo of the enterprise,emphasizing the analysis of the fundamental conditions,namely the internal and external conditions of specifying new developing strategies for Chongte Co.,the thesis makes clear its objectives:1. The enterprises should take advantage of five major national favorable policies and of the specific locality of Chongqing by employing strategic administration methods;2. The development of the enterprise should focus on the adjustment of the industrial structure,transforming steel-industry-centered structure into a structure under which steel industry is contracted and non-steel industries will be greatly improved. 3. The growth of the company should be motivated by reform and innovation. Reform should be implemented in all aspects of the three major blocks of the company:Firstly,the reform of steel industry will mainly center around establishing new companies and reforming business system;secondly,the reform of subsidiaries,and logistics will be the reform of the property rights;thirdly,the internal reform of the enterprise refers to alleviating social burdens. Innovations will cover the innovations in mechanism,technology and administration. 4. The short-term developing strategies and long-term and medium-term developing strategies should be based on optimizing various internal and external resources and on converting them into specialized resources of the enterprise.
