In recent years, with the development of national technology innovations and market system, technologically innovative products are increasing rapidly. In view of the market, how to transform those innovations into productive forces, therefore, becomes a hot spot. This paper intends to make a practical analysis of the market demand and investment risk for the technologically innovative products by taking as an example the intelligence-controlling ultrasonic tumour therapy system, created by professor Huang Da-gui, at the University of Electronic Science and Technology. Sampling survey, regression analysis, Derphi's method and other methods are utilized to study the market for this sort of product and the investment risk and also to forecast the market demand for the product. The present study is, hopefully, a preliminary exploration in the field (how to make technologically innovative products become market-oriented ), through which we also attempt to lay the groundwork for the further investment analysis of this product by real options method. To be more specific, this paper spreads as follows:Part One briefly introduce the current domestic and foreign researches on tumour cancer and the research trends. By comparingvarious methods used, home and abroad, to treat tumour cancer, we intend to illustrate that the thermotherapy is relatively effective.Part Two compares two kinds of products made to treat tumour cancer, one making use of thermotherapy and the other, ultrasonic. We apply a total quality assessing model to the data collected by sampling survey to see what users think of the existing thermotherapeutic products, thereby demonstrating the very sort of ultrasonic products has a good market prospect. This offers us a solid foundation to forecast the market demand for this product.Part Three forecasts the market demand for ultrasonic products. On account of the present marketing situation of thermotherapeutic products, we predict the rate of change in price and market demand for ultrasonic products by linear regression analysis.Part Four analyzes the total production costs and market investment risk. We, first, clarify such concepts as the changeable and fixed cost of production and then introduce some calculating methods. Based on those, we can decide the total production costs and investment capitals, and analyze the investment risk.Part Five concludes this paper by offering some suggestions on how to put this product on the market.
