There are new issue in condition of market economy. As new system of design theory adapt to the market economy haven't beenestablished ,the intrinsic methodology of design and theory of design can't apply service in new phases. It is urgent to establish the theory of design and methodology of design adapt to the market economy.This thesis try to study the status of buyer's market in housing market which is growing up to found the character and the trend of the development of housing market And the logical relationship between the market and the design by qualitative analysis and date Stat as the same to analyze the influence of housing market to design.The first section of the thesis studies the theory of housing market and resident housing of design, methodology of design, introduce the basic theory of residential housings design and planning of residential area, then forecasts the development of residential housings design and planning of residential area.The second section of the thesis discusses the status of buyer's market in housing market, analyzes the character of requirement in buyer's market, analysis the influence of requirement to design quantitatively and qualitatively. At the end of the thesis there is a example of design and a case to discuss the relationship of market and design intuitively.The emphasis of the thesis is the description of phenomenal and the discussion of methodology because of the non-linear relationship between market and design, and I hope this can do some use of the research of system of design theory adapt to market economy.
