A Research On The Risk Management Of International Construction Projects

The operation of international projects is a highly risky business with its success closely correlated with the changing international politics, international economy and relations between the relevant countries. In other words, contractors mainly make its profits by risk management. In this paper, a thorough research on the methods and applications of risk management for international construction projects from the viewpoint of contractors is carried out, which is based on risk management theory, combining with the features of international construction projects.The main due of the paper is the procedure of risk management. Contents and practical methods of risk identification, measurement, assessment and techniques of risk control are introduced systematically; the risks of international construction project is classified systematically according its sources and based on which a risk management frame which fits all international construction projects is established that all operation of risk management can be carried out under the frame. The application of combination of AHP and fuzzy comprehensive appraisal approach in the risk assessment of international projects is studied here,and a demonstration is also given. The paper aims at supplying a set of method system on risk analysis, handling and decision making for international contractor, It also aims at providing a basic work for advancing research in international projects risk management fields.
