The Study On Urban Competitiveness Of Hohhot

With the acceleration of the integration process of world economy, the rapid development of economy and society makes cities play more and more important role in the development of the country as well as the region. Facing with the globalization, the research of how to improve the competitiveness of cities has become a great new significant subject for every city.Scholars in China have been doing some productive research and investigations on this issue recently and put forward certain theories and assessing system of their own whereas overseas began their studies in the early 90s of last century. However, no single stereotype has been formed and deemed as widely accepted so far, leaving room for debate and revision theoretically or practically.By combining the theory of urban competitiveness and knowledge of urban geography, urban economics as well as other related fields of study, forming an estimation index system of urban competitiveness. Selected four cities in northeast part of China and four main cities in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, using Factor Analysis find out the advantage, disadvantage and potential in the urban competitiveness of Hohhot city.Finally the principle and measure of upgrading urban competitiveness of Hohhot are put forward.
