Under the circumstance of an open market, farm produce's competitiveness is significant to promote the sustainable and steady development of agriculture. As an agriculture-dominated province, Jiangxi shall seize the present opportunity, that agriculture is being strategically re-structured and the Government is attaching great importance on agriculture, farmers and rural economic development, to fully play its comparative advantages to further improve farm produce's market competitiveness, increase market occupation ratio and increase farmers' income.Using both domestic and international study achievements of competitiveness for reference, this article described the conception and characteristics of farm produce's competitiveness, as well as main factors impacting on the competitiveness, and analyzed the background of market competitiveness of main farm produces in Jiangxi province. Based on summarizing relevant statistical data of previous years, using positive analytical method and qualitative analytical method, following comparative advantage theory and competitive advantage theory, taking consideration of 8 aspects of productivity, market price parity, production cost, technological level, natural resource endowment, infrastructure, capital input and government administration and policy, the present market competitiveness of main farm produces of Jiangxi province was analyzed. Meanwhile, two quantitative analytical methods-farm produce's international and domestic parity coefficient and domestic resource productivity (DRP)-were also applied to briefly analyze the status of our province' farm produces in terms of their competitiveness in international market.Deepening analysis shows that the development trend of market competitiveness of main farm produces of Jiangxi province displays as following: the competitiveness of grain, cotton and oil tends to decline, dairy products will be shocked, livestock reveals an obvious competitive advantage, aquaticulture has strong competitiveness?the development of vegetable shows a strong favorable tendency mainly resulted from greatdevelopment potential of plant textile material and the competitiveness of fruit is facing a new favorable opportunity.In the end, in accordance with the local actual situation, the article put forward counter measures to improve market competitiveness of main farm produces of Jiangxi province: deepening market reform to make effort to increase commercial rate, forging famous brands to increase market occupation ratio, strengthening leading enterprises to increase processing and transforming rate, opening and developing in all aspects to increase resource output rate, implementing the strategy of science-technology invigorating agriculture to increase the contribution ratio of science-technology progress, and accelerating the construction of high-quality agro- product producing base, quality and standard system, agro-industrialization management system, agro-tech service system and agro-ensuring system.
