Study On The Construction States Of Modern Agriculture Demonstration Districts In Taizhou Region And Its Development Countermeasures

Taizhou Region was located in the southeastern coastal area of China with rapid economical and social development. The precondition of economy and society modernization was agricultural modernization. To develop the Modern Agriculture Demonstration Districts (MADD) was an important approach to provide rational ways to change the agriculture production increase, to strengthen the agricultural technology innovation ability and to fit the global economy process, to build up a supporting system for sustainable agriculture development. So it became an urgent subject that how to recognize and catch the key problems in MADD development and take the efficient countermeasures such as promoting the management and technology system innovation, building up a sustainable financing system and so on.According to the basic concept of Modern Agriculture Demonstration District, the author investigated the general situation of MADD construction, analyzed several typical MADDs with micro-economy methodology, caught the main problems in MADD construction and probed the major countermeasures for MADD sustainable development in Taizhou Region.The main results of this study were as follow:1 The social and economic background as well as the inevitability of the MADD development was discussed in this paper. The concept, types, functions, characters and operational principles were discussed, too.2 By investigation to the general situation, the author concluded the characters of MADD construction in the whole region. The first was construction scale became bigger and bigger not only for single MADD but also for grand total. The second was construction kinds became much more diversified both in crop production and pasturage. The third was finance support from government considerably increased year by year. The fourth was facility level remarkably increased. The last was scientific level considerably increased. As a result of MADD construction, agricultural production conditions were greatly improved, new machines and technologies were applied much wider than before and the agricultural and rural development simultaneously promoted. The mechanism of multiple approaches for agricultural finance input has been built up in the past several years.3 Through a systematic analysis to three typical MADDs, the author found some experience in MADD management. According to the management models, the MADD could be divided to three types, which were government guidance, enterprise guidance and farmer's association guidance MADDs. Based on flexible management models and high efficiency, the enterprise guidance and farmer's association guidance MADDs were of booming future, especially the farmer's association guidance MADDs. The paper analyzed the economic, social and ecological efficiency of Taizhou High-tech Agriculture Demonstration District and Lu's Family Owned Modern Fruit Production Demonstration Farm. The management model and running system of Tonglin Fruit and Vegetable Demonstration District were carefully analyzed, which were managed by farmer's association.4 In order to realize the sustainable development of MADD in Taizhou Region, the author submitted several problems should be improved.
