Research On Green GDP And Sustainable Development

In the past years, there are many disasters in China, with the lack of many energy sources, the annihilation of many animals, the pollution of many lakes such as Tai Lake, and the increase of environment protection fee. But the official GDP statistics has an increasing trend in the past years. The paper just starts from the contradiction, analyzing the deficiency of the traditional GDP, and suggest establishing the new economic system-Green GDP. The paper gives theory about the Green GDP system. It is the scientific concept of sustainable development that leads the birth of Green GDP. It states that how to build the System of Green Economy Efficiency Index and it make an overall summary about the different opinions of GDP. And in the last part, based on the experience of other countries, the paper has made some advice for our country that how to build the Green GDP system. This paper has five parts. The first part is to bring forward the problem. Facing the problems in the real life, our country now has serious difficulties about the water source, the biology, and the environment. And all these problems will threaten the life in the country even in the earth. We should pay great attention to the phenomenon. The increasing GDP cannot reflect the real economy increase. So it is important to build the new Green GDP system. The second part is the theory and analysis about the traditional GDP and Green GDP. It concludes the basic function, the calculation, the deficiency of traditional GDP. And it also tells the definition and the precondition of Green GDP. Green Economy is the unification of the sustainable development of economy, biology and society. The part has also some discuss about the significance and obstacles to actualize Green GDP. But nowadays there are still no official Green GDP calculation methods, and this paper just gives some of the most authoritative ones. The third part states the academic system of Green GDP. The birth of Green has its own trend, but actually it is the trend of transformation of economy theory. This part states the theory origin of Green GDP especially the academic system structure. This part has two sectors: one is about the analysis of Green GDP from different angles such as the origin, the signification, the mode, technique support and feed back section. The other sector is the establishment of the System of Green Economy Efficiency Index. The dual attributes of economy efficiency constitute the theory base of the System of Green Economy Efficiency Index. It also expounds the basic principles and concrete indices of the System of Green Economy Efficiency Index. The fourth part states how to build the Green GDP system. Introducing the SEEA System and the GSNA system, the paper enumerates some developed and developing countries that have adapted the Green GDP system in some industries. And it gives some suggestions for our country based on others'experience. The paper recommends that our country should adapt Green GDP from the west section because the area is not big and the pollution is not serious there. From there we can start our research and practice of Green Economy. The fifth part is the conclusion of the paper. Based on the analysis above, we can draw the innovated conclusions below. The first conclusion is that it is the obvious trend to implement the Green GDP because the traditional GDP has many deficiencies.
