Various crisis events are inevitable in China's historical cause of all-round construction of well-off society and socialism modernization. How can such events be dealt with effectively? What strategies and measures can be adopted to prevent crises? If a crisis arises, what can be done to reduce its negative effects as much as possible? The answers to these questions are significantly related to the safety of lives and properties, the maintenance of social rules and social stability, the comprehensive, balanced and sustainable development of economy and society. Information communication, a vital part in crisis management, is a communication process among government departments, organizations, media and the public, or between one another in the period of pre-crisis, while-crisis and post-crisis. A good information communication plays a crucial role in crisis management. It can supply decision-makers with information, improve the co-ordination among the departments, keep the public informed, gain the media support, maintain the social stability, supervise the allocation and use of resources. It can be verified that information communication is a premise and process guarantee of the crisis management. Thus, it is highly necessary to study intensively on the issue.Based on the present situation of crisis management in China and some successful experiences abroad, this paper discusses the close relationship between information communication and crisis management through cases and diagrams, analyses the role of information crisis in crisis management, therefore, tries to draw some lessons from the past and expounds a tract choice through information communication to improve crisis management, which is a fresh attempt to combine communication study with management study. The paper can function as a reference for the present crisis management and improve the crisis management in China.
