From the end of the World War II to the end of the cold war, Japan has become the second largest economic power in only forty years. But compared with the rapid development of economy, its politics has little progress. So Japan is called "the first-class economy" and "the third-class politics". Japan is not satisfied with the economic power status it has gained any longer and begins to search for the political power status. From the mid eighties of the 20th century, Japan has the dream to be a political power. After the cold war, a series of changes favorable to Japan have taken place in world situation. Japan grasps this opportune time and speeds up to achieve the aim of political power. To do this, Japan takes a series of actions and brings about some effects. But by reviewing Japan's history, we can find Japan is a very aggressive country and attains its end by hook or crook. So whether Japan's political power strategy can be realized becomes the focal points of the people in the world. At the same time Japan's political power strategy will surely have great influence on its neighbor — China , who has been seriously hurt by Japan's invasive war for many times. Especially in the near years Prime Minister Koizoimi Junichiro's successive visits to Yasukuni Shrine, the issue of Taiwan, the disputes over the oil and gas fields in the East Sea and the irresponsible speeches of the Japanese right-wingers hurt the Chinese people seriously and make the Sino-Japanese relations be faced with the most severe test since the establishment of diplomatic ties. Therefore, it's necessary to analyse Japan's political power strategy and its influence on Sino-Japanese relationsThe thesis comprises four parts. The first chapter has a general description of the evolution of Japan's political beliefs;Chapter Two has a detailed discussion of the connotation of Japan's political power strategy and the major measures taken to carry out this strategy;Chapter Three is several predictions on the progression of Japan's political power strategy, and the last chapter deals with the influence of Japan's political power strategy on Sino-Japanese relations.Through the discussion of the four chapters, we can draw the following conclusions:Japan's political power strategy can not be realized in a short period;Although Sino-Japanese relations are in the worst period since the establishment of diplomatic ties, yet considering all the factors, there is the possibility to develop Sino-Japanese relations further. So treating Japan's political power strategy rationally will be conducive to our government to make the right foreign policies. Settling the Sino-Japanese relations properly is not only beneficial to the two peoples but also to the peace and stability of the world.
