Evolution Of Japan's Trends Of Social Thought After The 2nd World War&It's Effect On Japan's Political And Foreign Affairs

As an increasingly important role in the world, Japan maintains the enormous economic power of inertia on the one hand.On the other hand, dramatic social changes, various trends of social thought inside the country , brought an significant or potential effect on China,Japan and the Asia-Pacific region. Social thought indicates the change of society ,which closely associated with the national policy and mutual influence.This article grasps the macro and micro analysis of the history and reality, the reality of relevant theory and the development of social contradictions linked to analyze Japan's mainstream social thought and the changes after World War II, especially in the 1990s. The full text is divided into five parts:The first part outlined the main topics significance on the question,the problem to be solved and the use of research methods. So far, the Chinese and Japanese academics on Japan's trends of social thought, is lack of systematic research.The conclusion is that the mainstream of Japan's trends of social thought is still peaceful democracy, "nationalism" is a trend of thought worthy of paying attention . I do not agree with the conclusion.Using the method of the macro and micro analysis, history and reality of comparison, the relevant theory and the reality of society, such as the contradiction between the development of research methods, this paper analyzes the trends of social thought from 1950s to 1990s .The conclusion is that Japan's trends of social thought comes to preservative more and more.The second part focuses on the definition of the concept of trends of social thought during the Cold War. Popular support comes out generally through the trends of social thought.The trends of peace and democracy lasted for 20 years ,from 1950s to 1960s .The trends of realism started in 1970s .The rapid development of economy in the 1980s generated the thought of big country .After the Cold War,a new trend of thought of nationalism bursted .The political realism of Japanese become weaker and weaker from 2000.The third part focuses on the change of mainstream social trends of thought after cold war and its influence on political and foreign affairs. The Japanese public awareness tends to be conservative .Neo-liberal tide changes, the national anthems of the national flag law, the Japan-US defense guidelines related laws, the Constitution will be set up, the national politicians and with academia, the ideological "Japan", "Historical Research Society liberalism", the "New History Textbook Committee," Yoshinori Kobayashi's "On War", Shintaro Ishihara against China, the United States and South Korea, North Korea, etc. explicit expression of nationalism, with the national point of view as a military power and political objectives of the new nationalism and the public in thinking.The news media, academic ideological, political, and so almost all areas of Japanese society gathered together to a political trend, which reflected in the country's major domestic and foreign policie.The fourth part illustrates the impact of trend of social thought on the policies of diplomacy. Since the mid-1990s, Japanese government adjusted following the principles of a political strategy which causes concerns of neighboring countries in East Asia. First of all, Japan strengthen the institutional and ideological line of demarcation, stressing that the so-called "Japan and the United States shared values" of diplomatic directional role in the introduction of foreign aid in the tough sanctions. Secondly, exaggerating the post-Cold War regional "factors of instability",Japan enhances the bilateral security alliance. Third, Japan stressed that Japan must not only provide "money", but also to "a person",in order to safeguard world and regional peace.The last part is the conclusion . The trends of Japan's social is determined by its social and historical conditions. The 2 main factors are: First of all, Japan's domestic situation is the basic factors.In general, when the domestic development is flat or declining, nationalist sentiment in theory will be demonstrated by the form theory.If not , people will be self-confident and proud of his position, ethnic sentiments can be easily translated into action. Second, the international environment will affect the direction of social thought. When Japan faces an external threat, a sense of crisis will explode out the sense of nationalism.When get out of the national crisis and being a common country, the nation will be in the state of calm .When Japan get great success, nationalism will be expanded up. The trends of Japan's social thought tends to be complex in 2000. Cabinet Secretary Yasuo Fukuda took office as prime minister, which reflected the strategic adjustment of national security strategy.But we must be cool to see that change to Japan's national strategy is not easy.
