Labriola And Marxist Philosophy

Antonio·Labriola,as the first outstanding Marxist philosopher and theorist in Italy, has made prominent contributions for the development and dissemination of Marxism philosophy. His contributions has made not only his creative development and exposition of historical materialism but positive publicity for Marxism in his political viewpoints and his political activities. Therefore, this paper firstly states Labriola's thought evolution process, and proceeds to analyze and explain his Marxism philosophy.Introduction gives a brief desprition on the life of Labriola, his major theoretical works when he has became a marxist, and some personal background information. Chapter 1 gives a comprehensive description on the evolution process of Labriola's philosophical thought and political stance, that is to say, his long travel, firstly a leftist Hegel, then the radical democracy, and finally the Marxist. And then the auther analyzes the reasons of his thinking transformation every time and conditions that he has became a marxist.Chapter 2 mainly introduces the Labriola's philosophical thought. The paper first analyzes and introduces his understanding of Marxism when he has changed into a Marxist. His philosophical thought is given below: Marxism country theory and revolutionary theory, Marxism historical view, his understanding of the "critical communism" and his historical dialectics thinking. The auther discusses and analyzes those theories, and he proceeds to analyzes his deepening and development of the Marxism philosophical theory. There are some areas given: his analysis of nature and origin of moral & science, his discovery and attention being paid to social psychology and its function in his research, his social five-level theory. Finally the auther analyzes and expounds his recognitions on its popular vulgar economics, on his criticism of the erroneous opinions about the historical figures, and on the relationship between philosophy and science.Chapter 3 focuses on Labriola's struggles against revisionism,social Darwinism, and other anti-Marxism schools of thought in the theoretical debate, and positively propagating Marxism in social actions in order to display Labriola's positive contribution to Marxism in practice.Chapter 4 tends to introduce a vivid and objective Labriola for readers by analyzing his errors of theories and in politics. The author ends this paper by analyzing Labriola historical impact. In this part, the author tries to analyze Labriola's enormous contributions on Maxism in every aspects.
