Since the international terrorism began to breed in the mid-20th century, it has become a huge threat to the safety of human beings. Currently, the international terrorism is accelerating in terms of its organization, criminal means and the social harm. Under the impact of international interaction, China also faces the main international terrorism threat of the "East Turkistan", together with the domestic terrorism and other terrorist threats. And as a result of international and regional disadvantages of ethnic, religious and social contradictions as well as the increased popularity of modern science and technology, such a negative situation increased.In order to safeguard national unity and political situation of stability and unity and to ensure the smooth progress of economic construction, it is necessary to strengthen anti-terrorism sense of urgency and responsibility, to take effective targeted anti-terrorism measures, and apply a variety of technical means for the ultimate victory over terrorism. How better to carry out effective counter-terrorism work is important issues to safeguard national unity, social stability, national unity and the smooth progress of the modernization This article, deeply analyzed the characteristics of terrorism in contemporary China and other countries and sought ways to deal with the issues, with the main purpose of how to carry out effective counter-terrorism in our country. To further strengthen our research on countermeasures is not only great theoretical significance to deal with our domestic and international counter-terrorism work, but also has important practical significance.This paper is divided into preface, main body and conclusion.The preface presented reasons and meanings of choosing this topic. The main body of the paper is divided into four sections. The first chapter introduces the concept of terrorism and the characteristics of terrorist activities; and carried out a detailed analysis on the different understandings of the domestic and international terrorism, with the focus on the root of terrorism.The second chapter makes a theoretical analysis of characteristics of the current state of the contemporary terrorist activities. Starting with the analysis of the current state of the terrorist attack, this paper analyzes the main features of the activities of terrorist organizations in our country, especially the activities of the "three forces" in China's Xinjiang in recent years. Analysis is mainly based on the attacking form, goals, means, training and funding sources of the "three forces" in Xinjiang to find main problems in carrying out anti-terrorism work, and the main trend of East Turkistan terrorist.The third chapter discusses the main international anti-terrorism work of the practice and experience in international terrorist activities through the current situation, the work of the anti-terrorism legislation and initiatives, inter-country anti-terrorism work of the joint operation on the principles of supra-national anti-terrorism work in practice, as well as the current international On counter-terrorism work of the existing problems carry out analysis, we clearly see that the rest of the world is how to carry out anti-terrorism work.The fourth chapter is the core of this paper ,which discusses anti-terrorism measures in the contemporary China's anti-terrorism work, putting forward the 7 corresponding countermeasures respectively, namely, to raise awareness of anti-terrorism work, an in-depth study of the new features and new means for the current anti-terrorism work ,to perfect legislation of the anti-terrorism, to call on governments at all levels to play a leading role in counter-terrorism work, and encourage people to be a positive role in the anti-terrorism and enhance international cooperation in counter-terrorism efforts, as well as the special role of the public security organs in the anti-terrorism work.Conclusion of this paper is to sum up. First of all, terrorism is a long-term, arduous and complicated task, and is also an important issue in political science. It is a event related to the safety of people's lives and property and social stability, economic development, national security. Anti-terrorism is not only a domestic policy to ensure social stability and national security, but also our foreign policy. In the process of carrying out anti-terrorism work, on the one hand, our government continues to strengthen domestic anti-terrorism capabilities, on the other hand, we actively participate in bilateral and multilateral international cooperation against terrorism, so that the "East Turkistan" forces of terrorism has been effectively curbed.
