Strategies Of National Image Renovation In The Context Of Frequent Emergencies

In the calm days,national image as an intangible asset plays a subtle role in the development and prosperity of one country,but often seemed to be overlooked. However,in an era with frequent emergencies,national image faces the watershed with both opportunities and risks,and it is often damaged.To this end,how to renovate national image and develop relevant strategies in this background has already been and will become an important issue China has to face.As a branch of the national image strategy which is one of the developing research topics of international relations,strategies of national image renovation in the context of frequent emergencies should be given adequate attention.Any strategy's formulation must be based on objective summaries and analyses of both past and present,history and reality.This article firstly analyzes the definitions and elements of emergencies and national image,the importance of national image,the necessity of renovating national image,as well as the relationship between them,and then attempts to find the bottleneck of national image renovation through reviewing and examining the experiences and lessons of national image renovation in the context of frequent emergencies since SARS,finally puts forward some constructive idea for China's national image renovation in the context of frequent emergencies.National image renovation in the context of frequent emergencies is a systematic project,which cannot be achieved at once.It not only needs to establish its purposes and goals,but also expects the government,the media and the public to take opportunities,cooperate and make breakthroughs based on the accumulating experience and lessons.
