Researches On Teaching Of Actual Combat In Public Security College In China

Actual combat is the main compulsory course for students in Public Security College and principal skill for police in law enforcement as well. Actual combat teaching aims to help the students grasp practical combat skills as quickly as possible, which is an important part in trainee cultivation and plays a crucial role in combating crime, protecting security of the public and the police themselves, and thus enforcing the law.The thesis investigates and studies actual combat teaching in China's Public Security College, which is based on researches of collected data from police physical education in 20 Public Security College,10 experts 100 teachers and 1000 enrolled students and systematic use of study methods as document analysis, logical analysis, experts interviewing, investigation method and statistical treatment of data.The result could be summarized as follows:1. On application. Teachings of actual combat as teaching aim, teaching task and teaching quality has been gradually growing mature and gained some experience. Through teaching and training of actual combat, the colleges have improved the students both physically and psychologically, and cultivated actual combat ability of the students as well.2. On quality of teachers. The advantage is that the teachers of actual combat in public security colleges in China have been equipped with good knowledge of theory and practice. The disadvantage is their comparatively low degree, research inability, lack of practical experience and weak ability in practical actual combat.3. On teaching conditions. Students in Public Security College have keen interest in learning actual combat while their improvement in skills has been constrained by outnumber of students, poor preparation in basic skills, and inadequate space and facilities.4. On teachings. Teaching of actual combat in domestic Public Security College has been fallen behind the advancing process of modern college due to backward teaching contents, single teaching methods, and lack of information-based teaching5. On assessment system. The assessment only refers to the students' learning of basic motions, and fails to incarnate Wushu's characteristics of attack and defense, which doesn't adapt for the teaching demand of police in new times, nor displays the students' learning process, personality development or comprehensive ability of skills application.To the above situation, basing on skills requirement for actual combat of modern police, author of the thesis raises suggestion with the purpose of providing theory for teaching reform of actual combat in Public Security College in China.
