Study On Current Development Of Shuttlecock And Its Development Strategies In Jiangxi

Shuttlecock is a rising sport in modern society which including entertainment, skills, mass, fitness, popularity and education. It adds antagonism to fun, ornament, fitness and it puts badminton courts, volleyball rules and tactics, football techniques as a whole. Shuttlecock is a net involved sports item. It is deprived from the ancient game of kicking the shuttlecock which has 2,000 years history. On March 3,1984, former State Sports Commission made "the decision of accepting Shuttlecock as a formal competition event". Since then it has been widely carried out in the country and goes towards the world.Learning from the exsiting documents, by the method of questionnaire survey, investigation, statistics analyses and so on, the article investigates the present situation of shuttlecock in 11 cities of Jiangxi Province and also investigates shuttlecock athletes, coaches and umpires who had taken part in the traditional ethnic sports competition in Jiangxi Province in 2007, in order to objectively analyze and evaluate present situation of shuttlecock in Jiangxi Province, to find the problems restricting the shuttlecock development and to give the counter-measure for its widespread.1. It turns out that Jiangxi Province has the shuttlecock foundation, but its development is imbalanced:Only in Yichun shuttlecock develops well, other 7 places such as Nanchang city it's not very popular, and shuttlecock in Fuzhou and Shangrao has not developed. Shuttlecock course has not widely opened in primary and middle schools or universities. This has detrimental effects on the shuttlecock development.2. In Jiangxi Province there are professional shuttlecock coaches for juveniles only in Nanchang and Yichun. Moreover, the coaches need to improve their knowledge and ability.3. Sports Commission in Jiangxi Province hasn't pay much attention to shuttlecock. Very few shuttlecock competition had been organized. No independent shuttlecock official department. Education department and the Administration of sports of Jiangxi Province did not hang together. More efforts should be done to promote shuttlecock.4. Shuttlecock propaganda work has not done enough in Jiangxi Province, propaganda and promotion work needs more spaces.According to the problems revealed from survey results, this paper made the following recommendations:1. Personnel training mechanism in Jiangxi Province should be consummated further.2. Coach's election and appointment mechanism needs to be intensified. Shuttlecock coaches should learn more theoretical knowledge.3. Management departments should make clear shuttlecock's future direction, promote the development of shuttlecock in Jiangxi province.4. Jiangxi Province should pay much attention to the importance of shuttlecock's propaganda work, enhance the publicity and enrich shuttlecock culture.5. Holding variet of shuttlecock matches to widen the market in Jiangxi Province.6. Exploiting shuttlecock market in schools of Jiangxi Province, the new talent training system of "primary and middle schools-universities-career club" is an important way to cultivate high-level shuttlecock athletes coincident with China's situation.
