Cultural consciousness in school management is an initiative process, during which school managers, together with all school members, integrate static reflections with dynamic developments of the school culture. It is also a dynamic process during which new mindsets as well as matched institutions, material and spiritual space fitted for further development of the school are established initiatively on the basis of the reflection of the core culture concept system. It turns school cultural functions from generalization into specific implementations, mainly in three aspects, that is, consciousness of material culture of a school, consciousness of institutional culture of a school and consciousness of spiritual culture of a school. The process of cultural consciousness implementation is also the process of respectively deepening and expanding recognition of the school culture by every school member.Cultural consciousness plays an essential role in school management. It can be presented by the inheritance and development of material culture of a school. It can also be demonstrated by the establishment of school institutions as well as the educational functions of spiritual culture of a school. Nevertheless, cultural consciousness doesn't exert spontaneously but has its own internal functional mechanism. It means that the relationship between cultural consciousness and school management should be handled properly and equivalent conditions should be created for the exertion of cultural consciousness. Moreover, principle and tactical thinking should be on the way.According to the research in HT Middle School about cultural consciousness, some phenomena which are not in accordance with the concept of cultural consciousness are existed. For example, good images are cherished while the rooting of school culture is neglected. Teachers and other staff are accustomed to regular procedures but lack of personal recognition. They go after traditional methods but absent of personal creation. They are satisfied with their good performances yet short of personal identity recognition. Regarding to such a situation, careful researches and considerations are conducted in terms of material cultural consciousness, institutional cultural consciousness and spiritual cultural consciousness. Some conclusions are basically drawn. Firstly, school cultural consciousness should by all means become common mindset among all school members and accordingly, matched working mechanisms should be established so as to create an atmosphere of cultural consciousness among all the people. Secondly, school cultural consciousness helps propel teaching reform and foster the comprehensive promotion of the teaching quality. Thirdly, school cultural consciousness helps teacher alter their interactions with students and promotes the effectiveness of class teaching. Fourthly, school cultural consciousness propels to upgrade the quality of teachers and enhances teachers' professional development in general.
