| The Asian Games basketball game is the highest level basketball tournament in Asia. Compared with the unsatisfactory situation of the men's basketball in east Asia, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Chinese Taipei team is still leading the Asian women's basketball. The Chinese women's basketball team has made brilliant achievement since it took part in the Asian Games for the first time in 1974. In the 9 times basketball games of Asian Games in which they have participated before Guangzhou Asian Games, they had got four titles, of which ahead Korea's three and Japan's two. According to the latest national team standings published by FIBA after the 16th Czech Team World Championships, the Chinese Women's basketball team ranked number 8, South Korea number 9, and Japan number 11. But this doesn't mean that our team must have advantage when facing other Asian rivals. Let's say, in the women's basketball team competition of the 16th Guangzhou Asian Games, China conducted five games and eventually won the championship. But it is really a diificult proess because except for the games to Thailand, Indian and Chinese Taipei, the competiton is extremely fierce especially the tow games to South Korea. In the finals, China defeated South Korea until the final round and got a narrow victory just because of a rebound.In the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, the Chinese women's basketball team re-accessed into the world series top four after 16 years, reshaping the former bright figure of our team. But later because of the leave of some old players, such as Sui Feifei and Song Xiaoyun, some players'status drop caused by the increacing age and injury ,like Miao Lijie, Chen Nan, Chen Xiaoli, etc., as well as the lack of big experience of the young players, the level of our team was falling sharply. In the 16th the Czech team world championships just finished in October, the Chinese women's basketball team only got 13th in the standings, and that is our worst grades in history of world championship. looking towards the London Olympics two years later, the Chinese women's basketball team should fix its position objectively, learn vour lesson, and then rises abruptly based on its accumulated strength. Guangzhou Asian is a very big game before the team march into London Olynpic Games, which is just needed by the new generation ,who is in its old-and-new alteration, to find and solve problem, accumulate experience and thus enhance itself.Taking the Chinese women's basketball team and its competition opponents in the 16th Guangzhou Asian as the research object, by using literature data method, questionnaire survey, video observation method, mathematical statistics, logic analysis, this paper gave a systemic analysis of the Chinese women's basketball team's and its rivals'attacking and defending ability, found out the problems in attacking and defending of the team, and offered theoretical basis for it to improve its sports level. The study found that:(1) The height of the Chinese women's basketball team has reached the level of top-ranked teams in the world. But the main players are a little old, so the team should finish its new-and-old alteration as soon as possible.(2) In the attacking aspect, there are too many faults in passing, the success rate is low, the Perimeter player especially the linebacking's three-point shooter is a little low which shows their poor stability in match. In addition, the player's strain ability is bad when the rivals suddenly change their defensive formation in the match.(3) The Chinese women's basketball team should further improve the ability of interception and reduce foul frequency when stealing the ball and snatching the rebound.(4) The Chinese women's basketball team must strengthen the psychological diathesis also enhance the usage of skills specifically in high speed, strong against cases. (5) The Chinese women's basketball team often retreat yet no defense because of the inattention when turning from offense to defrense.
