With the rapid development of social economy,the project is moving into large-scale industry,scientific,standardized direction. But under the situation of new project management thinking, there are still a lot of deficiencies in the domestic construction industry. Most of the previous theory of conflict management are for a relatively stable organization. These theories can be kind of reference to construction project conflict management, however, not targeted and unable to meet practical needs of the management. Therefore, conflict management in construction projects is needed to carried out as special research topics.Facing the increasingly fierce, various conflicts occur frequently,the project manager's management philosophy is still stuck in some very superficial level, both the lack of understanding and initiative of conflict management. In most cases, conflicts are intensified to a certain extent, already having a greater impact on the project circumstances. In the process of conflict resolution, negative approach are applied to avoid the conflicts intensified, but often situation becomes worse and brutal repression way are applied, which cause a further escalation of the conflict,or even directly lead to project failure. How to effectively manage conflict, has become a major issue which put in front of construction project managers.This paper will approach case study way, using existing conflict management theory, analyzing the cases descried. This paper use Pondy's five-stage model of conflict, Thomas' process and the structural model of conflict and Blake and Mouton's two-dimensional model of conflict management and other conflict management theory. The paper also specifically analyze the causes of the conflicts, the development of the conflicts and conflict escalation processes, and the outcome and impact of conflict and conflict management strategies adopted by the principal, sum up the experience of conflict management cases and lessons. The paper also puts forward a number of advices of construction projects conflict management. Hopefully the research could provide useful guidance and reference for construction project managers, as well as conflict research material for project management research scholars.
