The purpose of this research was to examine effects of chinese traditional martial arts standing meditation on wushu sanda athletes core strength and core stability through experimental method of research. Everything started with two groups of first year students from wushu sanda division of Beijing Sport University that were selected and divided into experimental group and control group. Only experimental group was subjected to standing meditation training for 15 weeks with 5 weekly session lasting 20 minutes on average each, while control group refrained from doing any variation of standing meditation or core strengthening activities. Then two testing events were held before and after standing meditation training phase to examine any possible effects that standing meditation might have had on athletes'core strength. Test protocols included Star Excursion Balance Test and "Bunkie test that could provide indication of core strength improvement as it was claimed by some researchers. After all relevant test data was acquired author commenced basic statistical analyses and made a comparison between both groups' training effects. Obtained results clearly indicate observable decrease in many parameters of both groups after 15 weeks of regular training. Author assumes that this phenomenon occurred due to several possible reasons:1. Comparatively high motivation during first testing.2. Lower motivation during second testing.3. Possible physiological fatigue. Here author would like to draw special attention to the fact that experimental group's training effect was still more prominent than that of control group in all of testing parameters of both tests considering that both groups were subjected to relatively similar training conditions, except for standing meditation. During later analysis of each of separate parameters author came to following conclusions:1. Standing meditation training has no considerable influence on improvement of dynamic balance.2. Based on previous statement author assumes that registered increase in core strength through standing meditation training may not directly translate into increase in dynamic balance as opposed to other researchers claims.3. Using all relevant diagrams and values as a basis author can assume that standing meditation training has considerable effect on core strength and core stability of wushu sanda athletes.
