Nowadays, under the guidance of New Course Reform, the politics teaching in high school pays more attention on the practicality, openness, times and selectivity. So, it is necessary for teachers to be inflexible and creative in teaching. Only by improving their professional attitude can the politics teachers in high school meet the requirement of New Course Reform, and carry out and promote it. The improvement of teachers'knowledge structure is the most important and essential factor, and also the inevitable problem in the process of New Course Reform. Because the good knowledge structure is the basic qualification for each teacher, and will set back the development of school.This thesis is divided into five chapters as follows:The introduction of this thesis presents briefly the reason, the meaning, the content and the method of the research.Chapter One summarizes the research of politics teachers'knowledge structure. It states the definition of knowledge and knowledge structure and the history of research on politics teachers'knowledge structure. And it points out that the research on politics teachers'knowledge structure has drawn wide attention in academic circles and gained some results.Based on the research at home and abroad, Chapter Two divides politics teachers'knowledge structure in high school into four parts:involved knowledge, conditional knowledge, practical knowledge and background knowledge by means of documentary according to the main requirement of New Course Reform in politics. It is raised that these four parts are the basic knowledge of politics teachers'teaching.Chapter Three survey the present state of politics teachers'knowledge structure by means of questionnaire and interview, providing the practice base for the research on improvement of politics teachers'knowledge structure. The objects of survey are more than 100 politics teachers of 10 high schools. And the survey is designed centering on the four parts of politics teachers'knowledge structure. By analyzing the result of survey, some problems in politics teachers'knowledge structure at present. There are mainly three problems:involved knowledge is not comprehensive, conditional knowledge is only studied rather than used in teaching, practical knowledge is not accumulated due to teacher's insufficient reflection.Chapter Four offers some approaches on improvement of politics teachers' knowledge structure in order to make up the problems in survey. First way is to form teachers'consciousness of study by themselves. Second way is to wake up teachers' consciousness of course. Last but not least way is to pay attention to teachers' reflection and to set up the effective exchanging mechanism.
