Since the "Senior Middle School Mathematics Curriculum Standards (Experimental)"(hereinafter referred to as "Standard") has promulgated and implemented, there have been examined and approved six versions of senior school mathematics textbooks, and have been on trial in the experimental areal. The study object is the vector content,including the content of plane vector in compulsory part and space vector in elective part,of five versions of the standard textbook ,which are published by Beijing Normal University Press, People Education Press (Edition A),People Education Press (Edition B),Jiangsu Education Press and Hunan Education Press. There are literature methods, comparative methods, content analysis methods and statistical methods in the study. The problem of the study is"what feature does each senior school new curriculum mathematics textbook have in vector content".Knowledge system, auxiliary readings system, examples and exercises system, and structure of the textbook was discussed and analyzed from both quantitative and qualitative aspects. The conclusions are following: Though the same and the different features are both existence in textbooks, there are similar in the order of vector knowledge points, the presentation of vector concepts and the structure of textbook .The consistency of each version in the part of plane vector and space vector are strong. However, each version has its own characteristics:Beijing Normal University Press: it stresses background and process of the knowledge; it also emphasizes the contact between vector and mathematics, practical life, and other subjects; the density of vector knowledge is large, examples related to vector content are compactness; the number and the variety of column are abundant, illustration are appropriate.People Education Press (Edition A): it is less difficult in the number of knowledge points. The number and the density of vector knowledge points are appropriate; vector knowledge points and other content closely links; there are a lot of to-life illustration and lots of columns, vividly reflecting the contact between vector content and the outside world; the number and the types of examples and exercises are less than others.People Education Press (Edition B): the capacity of vector knowledge is large, the degree difficulty is high, the application of space vector is stressed; illustration is appropriate, the number and the types of examples and exercises are abundant.Jiangsu Education Press: the capacity of vectors knowledge point are the smallest of all; the link among vectors knowledge points are perfect, but the link between the physical content is deficiency; the number and the types of column are plentiful, the number and the types of examples and exercises are moderate, but the link between them are more than others.Hunan Education Press: the characteristic is the examples and column to introduce the vectors content, annotate and comment are rich and proper. The capacity of vectors knowledge points are smaller, the number of geometric problems solved by using of plane vector is small and their types are fewer, they pay more attention to the content of the application of space vector, the circumstances of foreword is particularly smooth;the number of column is small, but the capacity is large.Based on the above conclusion analysis, following suggestions are given: When compiling textbook, the number and the types of exercises , the annotate and comment should be noted so that their content are appropriate; the choose of textbook should be according to the situation of students and teachers in the regions, the use of textbook should authentic to the version which is chosen,but it is appropriate to reference the merits of other textbook; the teaching of vector content is focus on both vector content characteristics and its action of tool and bridge .The innovation of this study is to learn the terminology and their definitions of Chinese textbook study, combined with the characteristics of mathematics textbook, and by making a definition of auxiliary readings system of the mathematics textbook. It has made a comparison of standard senior school mathematics textbooks from the knowledge system, auxiliary readings system, examples and exercises system and structure of the textbook.
