In present era, post-graduate education has greatly changed the pattern of development of higher education. As we all know, in the post-graduate degree system, on the one hand, the master's degree is final degree for applied work,on the other hand, it is a transitional phase between undergraduate education and doctoral degree. In Developed countries, after graduation, about 80% of post-graduate employment tend to work, 20% master's after graduation chose continuing the doctoral degree.After China reform and development of graduate education for twenty years , our country has become a completed and diverse system of graduate education, particularly in the size, it has entered the big nations of graduate education. The numbers expanding continuously need to reflect the quality of graduate education. In September 2006, the Ministry of Education reform the training mechanism of post-graduate students, establish a supervisor leading responsibility system and a supervisor closely funding system around research to the National 56 top colleges and universities for the pilot.In the northwest area, the gap of the post-graduate education of GanSu Province and the national is objective, which is demonstrated for strength of scientific research and innovation capabilities. this studychoose graduate students the provincial university , targetsed for masters'the characteristics of scientific research in the current ,around the situation of scientific research , analyse some relevant aspects ,understanding the problems of scientific research for College Graduate of GanSu students in the current ,combining with the past experiences and achievements in scientific research, and discussing how to revise adjust and refine the number traing programs and standards for Graduate Students, forming sound regional characters measures and mechanisms the formation of scientific research for post-graduate students, in order to meet the need for various talents of regional economic and social development in GanSu.Therefore, it has theoretical and practical significances, the paper devided into four parts, generally concluded as follow:1. The concept of the post-graduate Students training should incline to a kind of occupational advanced degrees. Master's study is aimed to provide advanced knowledge in the most practical field, it doesn't dilute the academic or scientific training, in fact, the attitude of research is essential at any level of degree education, that is to say,the Dr. work is not the only high-level activity basis on the scientific research, the post-Graduate students training should explore the adaptability for the top career.2. No balanced post-graduate students-teacher ratio is normal, provincial universities need strengthening the dominant disciplines and teacher ranks in order to find the suitable balance points between teachers and students: the academic and applied sort of classified guidance, to make traing programs and standards for applied Students and reform supervisor committee, advocate training post-graduate students throught interdisciplinary guidance is worth trying; use thesis to reinforce guidance training,pay any attention to innovate for every aspect of and improve thesis assessment mechanism. In addition, to strengthen building scientific research system and scientific evaluation, createa harmonious atmosphere for scientific research; in the end, effectivly guarteen researching funding investment from financial education to local universities, improve researching funding of protection mechanism for graduate students, establish research funding school management system.3. As the differences from GanSu provincial universities among the developed background, environment and mainstream professional disciplines, have unique developings paths, non-equilibrium is objective, in so less developed areas, chose topic of graduate training, the situation is rich and complex. Therefore, in addition to foreign experiences and its own experiences, but also from the school reality, should rationalized, balanced relationships among government, universities and industry. However, for instructional or teaching - research university, they have same trends and face same problems, that is activly involving in local economic constructions, taking contributions for support, taking service for development, enhance the service capacity of regional economic development.4. 2010 is last year for"Eleventh Five-Year Plan"in our country, is also a basic year for"twelveth Five-Year Plan"in GanSu province, the science research of provincial Universities in Gansu should adhere to the strategic restructuring of the region's economy, keep the market guide, strengthen independent innovation, keep people oriented. Provincial Universities post-graduates reform of scientific research should realize profoundly modernization, the opportunities and challenges of master education from higher education reform and international competition. Research reform should open the mind, keep reform and innovation, explore new ways of mechanisms for post-graduate students, strengthen macro-control between government and university, play consulting and quality controling role of experts and scholars. basiclly change conditions of universities, extend research and teaching resources, increase investments, initially form a graduate education system which has reasonable layout, appropriate development of scale, appropriate economic and social development with local characteristics in GanSu.
