! ~ Abstract The moral education indoctrination is to indoctrinate socially acceptable ideas, political tenet and moral and behavior standard to educatees by educator抯 simple and compulsory means, regardness of educatee抯 actual condition, both physically and mentally. It aims to make educatees accept these opinions and value standards without any alternative. The moral education indoctrination experiences two developmenat stages: doctrinal and dogmatical indoctrination and authoritative teaching indoctrination. In ancient class societies, the causes leading to indoctrination are as follows: I . Man抯 subjctive consciousness is not Wakened. I . The system of combination of politics and education. 1111. The insufficient understanding of children抯 formation of moral character. The factors which influence indoctrination to be the main means of modern moral education are as following: I . The social selfish departmentalism抯 educational view. I . Scientism of ideological trend in education. II . The severe utilitarianism in moral educational process. N. The overpoiiticized content of moral education. V. The knowledge ? centered teaching viewpoint. The reasons why modern society needs to abandon indoctrination are based Ofl: I . To spread man抯 subjectiveness is becoming the main trend of today. I . The continuous fusion of scientism and humanism. I . The modern theoretic research on moral education and its practive offers theoretical basis and successful experience to the abandonment of indoctrination and exploration of new means of moral education.
