To maintain the leading position of the Chinese Gymnastics, we should devote ourselves to cultivating promising young gymnastic coaches.Being aware of this, in 1997 the Chinese Sports Committee set their target to select and foster a number of trans-century outstanding middle-age and young coaches: facing the 21 century, it will take 3 to 5 years to choose and cultivate about 100 outstanding coaches over the century. They must be under 40 years old and have good quality of the politics and culture, abundant experience, organizational ability and professional competence, they can follow the trend of international sports development.After having read volumes of documents, I perceived that how the outstanding gymnastics coach gain success are scarcely exposed and demonstrated in theory by the formers. I believe my investigation on the subject can not only make up for the insufficiency, but also set examples for young gymnastic coaches. I wish that it even could be utilized as reference bases for making decisions for administrations at different levels.1. Most of the outstanding gymnastics coaches have experienced special training for several years, their average training time is 9.85 years. They had a great deal of training experience. Because of the special feature of gymnastics, they began their career younger than another career. Their average working time is 24.3 years. After experienced 11.88?1.43 years' hard work, they become outstanding coaches.2. 94.4 percent of outstanding gymnastis coaches have college degree. The higher education helps coaches to be success.3. Chinese outstanding gymnastics coaches whose achievements usually experience five stages: accumulation, adaptation, creation and improvement, steady development, steady improvement. Each stage has its own signs of development and time characteristics. It needs about 24.93 years for coaches from the beginning of career to approach the improving steadily stage.4. The outstanding gymnastics coaches reach the first achievements usually in the end of creating and improving stage and outstanding achievements in developing steadily stage, suffered their most difficulties in adapting stage and creating and improving stage.5. There are nine subjective and nine objective factors that influence outstanding gymnastics coaches' development.6.
