This article introduces the concept of MCAI and its development in China. It discusses not only the peculiarity and major theories of MCAI, but also its realistic significance. It mainly analyses the application and evaluation of chemistry MCAI in secondary school and tries to find out the key to walk out the dilemma of chemistry MCAI. Furthermore, it views scientifically the future of CAI developing trend.The application of chemistry MCAI in middle school can enable students to observe and analyse chemical experiments, explore microcosmic world, understand abstract principles as well as get to know some chemical phenomena and processes that are difficult to be observed in reality. This article discusses thoroughly not only the principles of drawing up and using MCAI courseware, but also the basic type of MCAI courseware. What's more, it analyses the current misunderstanding and limitations of chemistry MCAI application in secondary school.In making courseware, this article takes ethylene as an example to make a MCAI courseware. It discusses the components of multimedia computer system and the whole process covering from choosing subject, teaching design, writing manuscript, collecting and creating medium materials, synthesizing coursev/are, testing and evaluating to packaging and publishing, in details.
