The personality-orientated teaching of Chinese is the development direction of Chinese teaching reform. To make students' personality develop in a whole and harmonious way is an important aim of teaching Chinese. Much more attention is paid to the personality-orientated teaching by the foreign education circles, but, study in this field is relatively backward in our country, and the personality-orientated teaching idea of Chinese and a systematical theory and behavior framework of the personality-orientated teaching of Chinese have not been formulated yet. In order to provide some suggestions and methods this paper mainly discusses the necessity and possibility of the personality-orientated teaching in Chinese teaching as well as the its tactics.This paper firstly defines the terms of "personality" and "personality-orientated teaching" and explains the basis of practicing the personality-orientated teaching. The personality-orientated teaching in Chinese teaching has its a theoretical basis of practicing. Teaching must suit the differences of human from the point of psychology; the purpose of education is to develop the human's personality from the point of pedagogy; the Chinese teaching as subject a plays a critical role in the personality development due to its own special character. There are also some realistic bases in the personality-orientated teaching of Chinese: the personality of talents is required by human self-development; the development of various subjects also promoting its development. But the personality teaching still faces great difficulties, such as the constraint of the educational system, the backwardness of the educational concept, the teachers' poor quality and restrictions of the realistic situations and so on, which require us to reform the current educational systems and innovate the education concept and improve the teachers' quality and develop national economy and control population, only in this way can we truly practice the personality-orientated teaching.The emphasis in practicing the personality-orientated teaching is: I .
