The Study Of Status, Problems And Countermeasures For The Development Of RTVU Distance Education In Gansu Province

Ministry of Education launched the project of "Exerting Cultivating Model Reformation and Open-education Experiments in Audio and Video University" in 1999 and GSRTVU is one of the pilots. The implementation of the pilot has brought the chance of developing for GSRTVU in new times. It also offers the opportunities of receiving continuing education for many adults in-service. But GSRTVU is located in the less-developed northwestern regions and she has her own special characteristic on many ways of teaching. With the expansion of the enrolment, many problems have posed on some ways , such as the means, management, quality of the teaching and social reputation. This situation tells us if we further develop and make the system of RTVU Distance Education in Gansu Province perfect, we can't only run after the expansion of quantity but should pay more attention to enhance the quality.In this thesis, the author follows the main line of enhancing the teaching quality and makes much exploration and study on GSRTVU from many aspects. This thesis is composed of five parts as followings.Part One is an introduction, elaborating the backgrounds, significance, purpose, main contents and methods of this study.Part Two is the investigation and analysis of the status of GSRTVU Distance Education. On the basis of the investigation and research on RTVU at each level in Gansu Province, the author analysizes the status.In the third part, the author points out the major problems existing in the course of the development of GSRTVU Distance Education which mainly lies in the ways: the construction of hardware in basic work stations, the construction of teaching software resources, the ability of teachers' teaching and students' for Distance Education, management and assessment of teaching.Part Four is the study of the countermeasures to enhance GSRTVU Distance Education. Regarding above the problems, the author puts forward nine countermeasures which will promote the sustainable development of GSRTVU Distance Education.Part Five gives a summary. Based on the complete conclusion and the assessment of the study fruits, the author points out the deficiency of the study and establishes the direction of the further study in future.
