Inquiry Teaching has been considered an essential part of Fundamental Physics education in novation internationally. It provides an important way to attain the education goal of combining knowledge and technique, process and method, emotional attitude and value orientation. In this paper, integrating inquiry teaching and advantage of traditional instruction, and in accordance with spirits of Chinese fundamental physics education reformation, the author puts forward a Guided Inquiry Teaching Model of high school physics. This research is intended to provide theoretic support and practical reference to implement the Guided Inquiry Teaching in high school physics education. It describes the teaching process, features, implementation principles and policy of the Model. A comparison of inquiry teaching and traditional instruction is also presented.Through this research, the author reaches the following conclusions:1. Guided Inquiry Teaching is much more preferred by students to traditional instruction. It promotes their interest to learn physics and make scientific inquiry.2. Guided inquiry teaching is much more helpful for students to memorize physics knowled ge, and to comprehend, apply physics knowledge. In the mean time, students' capability of resol ving physics problems increases substantially. As a result, their grades skyrocket.
