Anxiety is one of the most serious problem which influences mental health, and psychologists have made a lot of researches on anxiety's development, diagnosis and therapy. Based on previous anxiety-related studies, this research probed the situation of mild mental retardation students of vocational school and its causes, with the aim of presenting guidance and support to mental health education to these children. With State—Trait Anxiety Inventory and anxiety cause questionnaire, the research studied the developmental characteristics of anxiety of mild mental retardation students in junior vocational schools, and those of normal students in vocational school. This research also studied the factors which influenced mental retardation students' developmental characteristics of anxiety, etc. The results indicated as follows:1. The level of trait anxiety of mild mental retardation students is higher than that of normal students in vocational school;2. There is significant gender difference exist in mild mental retardation students, both state anxiety and trait anxiety. The anxiety level of girls is higher than that of boys;3. There is significant age difference exist in mild mental retardation students, both state anxiety and trait anxiety. With the growth of age, the anxiety increases;4. The level of state anxiety of mild mental retardation senior is higher than that of junior;5. The level of state anxiety of students from regular classroom is higher than that of students from mental retardation school. The performance of students in mental retardation school is better than the action of students from regular classroom on fields of character trait, fellow relation and learning stress;6. There are six factors which influence the anxiety level of mild mental retardation students, and communication between opposite sex doesn't influence both state anxiety and trait anxiety. Bring-up manner influences anxiety most, the second is learning stress, the least is fellow relation.
