Analysis Of The Phenomena Of The "Hot Battle" Of The National University Entrance Examinations And The Guidance Of The Correct View Of Talent-cultivation

The construction of a comparatively well-off society needs comprehensively developed talents and it is necessary to establish a correct view of talent-cultivation. Only by establishing a correct view of talent-cultivation, can talents be cultivated and modeled successfully. However, there exists a deviation in the view of talent-cultivation and it affects the healthy growth of talents. The phenomena of the "hot battle" of the national university entrance examinations reflect the deviation of the adult world and in the view of talent-cultivation in the youth. Therefore I have chosen the topic. The study of the topic has an important meaning for the society to change its ideas on education, for the execution of quality education, for establishing a correct view of talent-cultivation and for the promotion of reforms of the system of the national university examinations. In this thesis, methods such as the literature method, the method of comparison and research and that of interviews are applied. The two great trends of the development of modern world education, i.e., the lifelong education and quality education, are summarized. The current situation of talents in our country is analyzed in the thesis; that is, the situation of brain drain is quite serious in our country and there are not enough talents to meet the requirements of the economic construction in our country. The thesis assumes that different times require different talents and standards and ideas of talents should change accordingly with the changes of the era. The thesis also argues that the evaluation standards of talents are moral character, ability and achievements. It is formulated in the thesis that only by establishing a correct view of talent-cultivation, can the requirements of the strategy of making the country strong through science and education be adapted, can the quality education be executed, can the pressure of national university entrance examination be alleviated and can the qualified talents be cultivated. The thesis summarizes and generalizes phenomena of the "hot battle" of the national university entrance examinations and points out the deviated view of talent-cultivation caused in the "hot battle". Such a view is expressed in the following: paying attention to the cultivation of intelligent factors, the negligence of the cultivation of non-intelligent factors, the blind pursuit of famous universities and popular specialties, being eager to obtain a simple skill and the negligence of the cultivation of the comprehensive foundation. Based on what is mentioned above, the thesis has further analyzed the fundamental reasons of producing the phenomena of such a "hot battle". They are related to problems existing in the development of the higher education in China; there is intense competition of the admission to universities; the admission system and the examination system of universities are not perfect and they are also related to the misleading of social opinions. To establish a correct view of talent-cultivation, the joint efforts of the whole society are needed and a comprehensive management outside and inside education is also required. The author of the thesis assumes that in order to establish a correct view of talent cultivation, the following methods should be adopted. A new concept of the lifelong education should be established so as to adapt to the new tendency of the development of the current education. The faults of the "examination-oriented education" should be overcome and a new concept of a comprehensive quality education ought to be established. Reforms on the system of the national university entrance examinations should be deepened so as to adapt to requirements of the talent development in the new era. New talent development strategies should be executed so as to adapt to the tendency of the popularization of higher education.
