Tao Xingzhi studied education phenomenon from the relation between life and education with Dewey, they both advocated life education. However, the same word includes the far different content . Tao Xingzhi was Dewey'student,but he was different from Dewey. Tao Xingzhi not only had essential differences with Dewey on the educational thought, but also the philosophical foundation of the education thought of the two was different thoroughly. The fundamental difference of educational theories between two kinds of life lies in : Philosophy of education that Tao Xingzhi is to regard living in the society as the subject, only education theory of practice of the thing taking practising as foundation; Dewey's philosophy of education is to live for the subject with individual, the education theory of the idealistic experience based on subjective experience. Knowing the comparison of the thought of philosophy of education with Dewey and Tao Xingzhi, influences and can make rational appraisal and reference on the education of Tao Xingzhi directly.
