As a sort of teaching method, instruction exerts actively in reading teaching. But in traditional reading teaching, the teacher was a performer in classroom and dominated the whole class. Teacher was the only person who spoke or asked questions in the classroom. Teaching content was fragmented and students' status was lost because teacher paid too much attention on knowledge. Chinese teaching reform implemented all over the country to mend the abuse of formerly reading teaching. But at the same time, it also aroused a lot of new problems. Many Chinese teachers are fear of lecture, refuse lecture, and even regard lecture as great scourges. Many teachers think that they would reduce instruction due to the new curriculum standards demanding students playing principal part in the classroom. There are many fallacies about classroom instructions and they made a bottleneck for Chinese reading teaching. This phenomenon reflects that traditional subject teaching conception goes to the turn owing to the impulsion and bewilder in the turn. Thus, we need analysis externally and consider dialectically about value of teacher instruction behavior.The thesis analyzed the defects of traditional reading teaching and problems under the challenge of new curriculum standards. It seeks the theory support of instruction teaching and tries to discuss the principles and strategies which instruction should keep to and the relations between teacher' s diathesis and lecture. Traditional reading teaching took most time on analysis of knowledge point, neglecting the development of student' s go-aheadism. However, the reading teaching under the direction of new curriculum standards goes to another extremity, discarding lecture and abandoning dominant action of teacher in the classroom. In fact, nothing could substitute lecture in reading teaching. Lecture should keep to principles of enlightenment, creativity and aestheticism. Under the guidance of new curriculum theories, instruction should fuse with modern teaching conception. In reading teaching, teachers should apply lecture with different strategies of putting question, giving problems, researching and interlocution creatively.
