For a long time, our teachers have employed an instructing-receiving way to conduct their reading instruction. This one-way teaching method made the students lack creative power. And, at the same time it decreased their ability of researching. It also violated the essential rules of reading instruction in varying degrees. To make matters worse, we couldn't approach our teaching goals using this teaching proposal. Therefore, to reform our reading instruction is seriously necessary. By drawing lessons from relative achievements in the initiative-probing instruction, this article approaches the reading instruction from angles of both theory and practice based on a deep study of The Indexes of Senior Chinese Course.This essay consists of four parts, whose main idea will be presented as the following:Part One: The basic meaning of reading instruction in an initiative-probing way. This part can help us know how to learn and comprehend this new kind of reading instruction in such five pieces of stratification: Initiative, Inquiry, Initiative and inquiry instruction , The initiative-probing reading instruction , The difference between traditional method of knowledge taught in a teaching-receiving way and the initiative-probing reading instruction.Part Tow: The implementing basis for the Initiative-probing Reading Instruction. Aesthetics theories and structuralism about learning provide a stable theoretical basis for the new teaching method. While malpractice of traditional Chinesereading instruction encourage this proposal to be carried out in teaching soil.Part Three: The concrete practice of the Initiative-probing Reading Instruction. This part presents a good view on how to practice the Initiative-probing Reading Instruction from teaching goals, principles, contents, patterns and tactics.Part Four: The demands to teachers who implement the Initiative-probing Reading Instruction. In this part the author suggests the teachers, who play a guiding role in the instruction, should grasp the principles, enhance their own accomplishment, make the roles clear, correct teaching concepts if they want to comprehensively accept, or thoroughly implement this new teaching method. Thus they can be aware of and successfully assimilate this new teaching approach. And so, they can implement it smoothly.
