Practicing And Thinking Of The Construction Of The Campus Culture In Hunan Women's University

This paper taking the campus culture of Hunan Women's University as the study case, explores to the issues of constructing the campus culture in women's universities and cultivating female talents It states the important effect of campus culture of women's universities on female students and proposes the basic principles and measures for women's universities to construct the campus culture.This paper summarizes the construction of campus culture of Hunan Women's University. Five features of its campus culture construction are summed up: (1) keeping to the point of cultivating women talents to strengthen gender education to female students;(2) promoting the fusion of technology education and humanities education;(3) constructing the unified and dynamic campus culture system;(4) stressing the principal status of female students' through their participation in the aompus organizations.The author holds that campus culture is the important carrier and it plays an important role in fostering female talents: (1) cultivating modern gender consciousness;(2) fostering the ideological and moral quality of female students;(3) providing female students with stages for demonstrating themselves to foster the comprehensive capabilities;(4) fostering aesthetic enjoyment and artistic accomplishment;(5) fostering healthy mental states. Thus women's universities should strengthen campus culture construction to build specific campus culture and be helpful for cultivating women talents.The paper holds that women's universities should construct campus culture through obeying the general rule of campus culture construction of universities and colleges and considering the special condition of women's universities as well. The principles of direction, individualized, subjectivity, integrity and openness should be obeyed.The paper advances that the campus culture in women's universities should be centered on the cultivation of female students. It includes four levels: (1) campus substance culture;(2) campus spiritual culture with the core of "self-esteem, self-supporting, self-confidence and self-reliance";(3) campus institution culture;(4) colorful campus behavior culture.Strengthening the construction of campus culture is a systematic project. Women's universities should enhance the construction of campus culture from the following aspects: (1) making a thorough construction of campus culture;(2) focusing on the education of humane quality and scientific spirit;(3) organizing the activities of campus culture;(4) exploring the new carriers of the construction of campus culture;(5) laying emphasis on the construction of the campus environmental culture;(6) enhancing the secure system of construction of campus culture.
