Research And Analysis On Teaching Journal As A Tool Of Senior High School English Teachers' Self-Assessment

This essay focuses on the teaching journal which is one tool of teachers'self-assessment. The theories of teachers'self-assessment set up solid foundation for further research and analysis of this essay. The author of this paper does researches on some English teachers of some senior high school to see how they use teaching journals and whether there are any problems in using it. On the bases of these researches, the author would be able to give some valuable analysis and advice on the area.The main body of this essay consists of four big parts. The first part is the summary of research on senior high school English teachers'assessment. In this part, four kinds of teachers'assessments are introduced, among which self-assessment is stated in details. This makes good preparation for the further writing of this essay. The second part is the relative research on teaching journals as a tool of senior high school English teachers'self-assessment. In this part, the author offered the definition and contents of teaching journals, states the element of teaching journals as a tool of self-assessment and analyses the things teachers should pay attentions to while putting it into practice. The third part is the research and analysis part which is the core part of this essay. After having introduced the people to be done research on and the way of doing the research, the author deals with the data and figures which are got from questionnaires and interviews. The last part is some suggestions on the using of teaching journal as a tool of senior high school English teachers'self-assessment. The introduction part introduces the purposes and reasons of doing this research and the appendix part show some samples of teaching journals which are got from the interviewees.
