The Study Of City Environmental Image In Taiyuan

City is not only a product of the development of society, economy and history, but also is the embodiment of human civilization. City image refers to an integrated impression given by the specific city and a reflection in human mind. City environment is the most worthy artwork created by people, and means the spirit of a nation and culture. City environmental image is the impression which people feel through each factor of the city. Also it is an important part of the city image system. A finer city environmental image could affect the feeling and mind of the residents as well as supply a well living environment. Therefore, it plays a crucial role for shaping the whole city image.This thesis begins from the issue of the city environmental image, summarizes and reviews the relevant researches and the tendency of the city environmental image constructions both in China and other countries. And then it introduces the main research questions and contents. By analyzing the cultural, economic and natural environmental images of Taiyuan City, the present study completely and systematically investigates the changes and developments of its environmental image, and sums up the tight relations between them. Furthermore, based on the case of Fen River in Taiyuan City, this research discusses the effects and revelations revealed by the construction of Taiyuan City in the recent years. Also, these findings would help the city environment develop in a reasonable and orderly way, and create an excellent city environmental image.
