On The Foundation And Practice Of Moral Education For Altruistic Emotion

The tradition of the moral intellectualism is of long standing, and it still holds the dominant status in current moral education in school. However, morality is not only the problem of logos and cognition. Individuals have difficulties in internalizing exterior moral principles to be their own characters without the presence of moral emotional experience, and thus moral behaviors can not be formed finally. Hence the necessity and significance of moral emotion education earnestly need to be paid attention to and discussed.With the continuous advance of times, theories and practices about moral emotion education in western countries have gained certain development and progress. Many scholars coincidently proceed studies and researches of moral emotion education with the primary and centralpart of morality-altruism. Exploration and researches of moraleducation for altruistic emotion in psychology, ethics and practice pattern have been done. These researching fruits deserve our deeply analyzing and discussing. Therefore, this paper mainly adopts researching method of literature analysis to clear up and expatiate on all aspects of moral emotion education theories.In the philosophic aspect, the paper mainly introduces opinions of caring ethic and learning to care theories. The statement of the caring ethic and its educational value tropism are analyzed to illuminate that the moral education necessarily ought to start with emotion.
