Hwa Nan Women's College And Fujian Modern Society

This thesis studies every stage of the history of Hwa Nan Women's College, through which we can probe into the relationship between Hwa Nan Women's College and Fujian modern society, and make an impersonal remark on the characteristic, social influence and historical effect of Hwa Nan Women's College. As the pioneer of higher education institution of Fujian Province, Hwa Nan Women's College breaks through the limitation of traditional education, its educational pattern, curriculum setting and the mode of bring up persons with ability had set a good example to other colleges in Fujian province. Hwa Nan Women's College is the dawn of female higher education in Fujian Province, which has progressive significance in educational history of Fujian Province. Hwa Nan Women's College cultivates large quantities of independent females, who played an important role in female ideological liberation of Fujian Province. Hwa Nan Women's College also promoted the advancement of Fujian culture and technology and had a large role in the process of modernization in Fujian Province.
