By using for reference the measures and experience of tackling graduates' employment in some foreign countries with advanced mass higher education, the research focuses on the analysis of the problem of and the solution to the employment difficulty for China's university graduatesOne of the main functions of higher education is to foster persons able to promote the full-scale development of society. Back to the period of planned economy, graduates were allocated by the government. National construction brought a great demand for graduates, whose supply fell short generally. While as the development of the market economy, the employment mode turns to "self-dependent career choice and two-way selection". University graduates propelled to the market are confronted with the complex problem of job seeking of new work force in towns, along with the re-employment of the lad-off workers in urban cities and transfer of surplus farmers in rural countries. With the lowering employment rate, there is striking heavy burden for them to seek jobs. The issue of graduates' employment is closely related to the stabilization of society and the development of higher education. The study poses some underlying reasons for the tough situation.Despite the marked structural conflicts and the fact that there are more and more college students in appearance, the quantity and quality of China's higher education, compared with the developed countries, are still far from the demand of social and economic development. The research attempts to deal with and provide solutions to the employment problem among graduates in China, which has been involved in worldwide knowledge economy in the background of globalization.The paper is composed of five parts: introduction, three main parts and conclusion. The content is as follows:The introduction talks about the significance of the topic, present studies and the basic line of though.Chapter one illustrates the current difficult situation in seeking jobs for graduates, and approaches the causes. An analysis of the process and features of China's higher education popularization follows a summary of the graduates' hardship when seeking employment. Through an analysis of the employment system, it explores the historic influence.Chapter two is about the enlightenment from overseas experience. During the course of the mass higher education there exists as well the employment problem abroad. However, thanks to its mature market economy, the conflicts are not as projecting as in China. From the angles of supply, demand, and the balance between supply and demand, the author draws experience in terms of its employment system and modes.Chapter three provides some suggestions on how to improve the employment of China's university graduates. The government, employers, institutions of higher learning and graduates are all to be considered in the employment mode. The causes resulting in the employment difficulty for graduates are various and multi-layered, ranging from the conception, the overall system to the government, the society and higher education, graduates inclusive. Therefore, the efforts by one party cannot change the status quo. Overseas experience can be well used for reference, but the transform in graduates' employment should be combined with China's practical conditions. As a complex systematic project, employment requires the active collaboration from all fields. Each should make sure the respective status and play the role in order to realize full employment of university graduates.
