Learning strategy is an important standard to measure the ability of individual learning and one of the factors to restrict effective learning ,as well as a sign of whether there is effective learning.Effective learning strategies can improve learning efficiency and the quality of learning. Biology learning strategy is the key to its effective learning .It's also an important standard to measure the ability of individual biology learning. Having down a survey of biological learning strategies of 1071 Yi students who are all from the 16 high schools in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, and the further analyses for the causes of the situation, the author have drawn the following conclusions:Most Yi students aren't able to use Learning strategy well in biology learning. The average score of their cognitive strategy, meta-cognitive strategy and Resources Management Strategy is lower than the critical score---3.0.These results are caused by many factors, including cultural factors of minorities, Language, the input in education, school management level, and environmental factors inside families.Firstly, YI people's traditional religion culture---BiMo makes the students play a passive role in biology learning. They also can't think flexibly and adjust and monitor their own thinking process. These lead to a low level in cognitive strategy and meta-cognitive strategy.Secondly, language barriers make Yi students'biological knowledge so narrow and make their biological knowledge structure irrational that it's difficult for them to learn, assimilate and conform new biological knowledge.Thirdly, it's almost impossible to provide the teaching method which is fitful for the Yi students'cognitive characteristics and arouse students'interests in the biological learning with the low input of school education and poor teaching quality.Fourthly, it's almost impossible to provide rich biological learning materials and expand the biological knowledge of Yi students because parents don't give enough support to the students in biology learning.
